Gomes obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo in 2011. Afterward, he joined the group of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sintmol.ufms.br\/?page_id=7\">Prof. Adilson Beatriz<\/a>&nbsp;at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul as a postdoctoral assistant to design new chemical methodologies for the synthesis of biologically active compounds. In 2013, he started his independent career as an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Grande Dourados. His research interests are focused on C\u2013C bond activation and cross-coupling reactions. He was a Visiting Professor at Harvard University in association with Prof. E. J. Corey\u2019s Research Group (2017-2020), and was research advisor in the Master and Doctoral degree programs in Chemistry at Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, and Federal University of Grande Dourados.
